The N.R.A.’s Complicity in Terrorism.
The NY Times ^ | 6/16/16 | THE EDITORIAL BOARD

Posted on 06/16/2016 7:22:53 AM PDT by Carriage Hill

“America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms,” one spokesman for Al Qaeda said in a 2011 recruitment video. “So what are you waiting for?”

Few places on earth make it easier than the United States for a terrorist to buy assault weapons to mow down scores of people in a matter of minutes. The horrific massacre in Orlando last weekend is only the latest example. And all this is made vastly easier by a gun lobby that has blocked sensible safety measures at every turn, and by members of Congress who seem to pledge greater allegiance to the firearms industry than to their own constituencies. There is a word for their role in this form of terrorism: complicity.

>>> “America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms” <<<

France has virtually no firearms. Often times even the police.

Gun bans are a Marxist ideology not a rational solution.

NRA defends liberties that are slowly being eroded by the government in the name of security and lets face the truth — the TERRORISTS HAVE WON. This once great country is slow (or quickly) heading for a police state where our lives are controlled “for our own safety.” Big Brother?

Being groped and molested at the airport was unheard of before 9/11. And who the heck knows what the national security agencies are doing these days and against average law-abiding Americans; compiling information illegally, tracking citizens. All in the name of safety.

And I predict that the first amendment rights will be next.

I guess the NRA must have had a presence in both France and Belgium,

Yeah. And England, and Spain ...

Probably also Syria and Iraq.

They're the ultimate evil ...

The killer was a Gay Muslim Democrat.

However, the problem is Donald Trump, Christians and Republicans.... and of course the tens of millions of gun owners in the country.

Anything but Obama’s failures to control Islamic Terrorist.

He can't even say the word. He doesn't have any problem with “bitter clingers,” though. Just ask the NY Times, those folks are the REAL enemy.

“...deflect the blame from Obama...”

That’s a huge chunk of it.

Don’t let Muslims into the USA and don’t sell guns to Arab-Muslims, or converted negro Muslims.

In fact, bar all Muslims from entering America and begin to round up and deport all Muslims who live here. Muslims should NEVER be permitted to emigrate to a country other than Muslim.

They are a time bomb.

Once again, the articles from the NYTimes should be banned. Many other sites are banned. Why is the Times allowed to spread their lies, their hate for America, their love for muslims including BO, and their rimming of the homosexual crowd? Why?

It was a “gun free zone” and a perfect soft target.

We need terrorist control, not gun control. The NYT shut down their own arguement with the “terrorists have easy access to weapons” line.

How about not letting thousands of ME immigrants into the US un-vetted, -AND- restart the FBI, DOJ, DHS, and the state dept. operations that kept tabs on these wannbe jihadis. You know, the very same programs that obama his MB buddies, along with the hillary state dept. shut down.

Terrorism is the excuse to take the guns from the people. Socialist control, as seen in Venezuela, cannot be achieved here while Americans are armed. The constitution has protected us so far but it is being chinked away at an alarming rate. Now, the socialists are attacking the NRA to weaken America’s ability to remain defiant. Several generations of socialist indoctrination in the schools and universities have softened us up considerably and most all the politicians have been bribed or blackmailed into going along. An influx of socialist immigrants ensure that the future elections will swing far left, as soon as they are given voting rights. The stage is set for the big shift. The ONLY thing that is preventing the swing to third-world status is so many guns in the hands of the citizens. A scenario common in the fall of so many countries.

I read the headline. I read the source of the headline.
Thus, there was NO need to read the entire post (which I did). The source, NY Times, told me all I had to know.
Any intelligent person has to merely read the headline is a Times story to know what garbage will be in print.
Isn’t my tagline brilliant?

America’s always been awash in firearms. What has changed since the 80’s?””

What has changed. When I was in HS and hunting season came around, kids came to school with rifles in their gun racks. Not a single person ever mentioned it. At 21, you could buy dynamite and caps in the hardware store. We simply wallowed in freedom, and loved it. I was stopped once by the county Sherriff and town policeman, for drunk, underage driving, 40 miles over the town limit. My bud and I had to dump out the wine and beer and were told in no uncertain language to not be seen in town again that night. I got a ticket for speeding. I had to go to court and they suspended half the fine—it cost me $20. These LEOs were our friends and protectors. We loved them. This was freedom lost, forever.

They need to be confined to a ME country, where they can continue to kill each other and themselves. They’ll never assimilate with any civilization.

The idea that there is something "elitist" about the intellectually dysfunctional totalitarian minded fantasy seekers at the New York Times, seems a bit of a stretch. Their consistent rationalizations in support of Leftist projects simply reflects the absence of any moral compass.

They blather on in print, day by day, year in and year out; but they have no commitment to truth, and that failure earns them the contempt of all who understand what journalism once aspired to; what honorable journalists once pursued.
