CIA director warns ISIS terror capability not slowed despite battle losses
CNN ^ | June 16, 2016 | Barbara Starr

Posted on 06/16/2016 6:10:15 AM PDT by maggief

ISIS has a "large cadre of Western fighters" who could attack in the West and is continuing to inspire sympathizers with no "direct links" to ISIS to attack on their own as it did in Orlando, the director of the CIA will warn this morning, according to excerpts of his statement to the Senate provided to CNN.

"We judge that ISIL is training and attempting to deploy operatives for further attacks. ISIL has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West. And the group is probably exploring a variety of means for infiltrating operatives into the West, including refugee flows, smuggling routes, and legitimate methods of travel," CIA Director John Brennan will tell the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday morning.

Brennan also says despite all the efforts by the U.S. against ISIS, it has not stopped the group.

"Unfortunately, despite all our progress against ISIL on the battlefield and in the financial realm, our efforts have not reduced the group's terrorism capability and global reach," Brennan will say.

"The resources needed for terrorism are very modest, and the group would have to suffer even heavier losses of territory, manpower and money for its terrorist capacity to decline significantly," Brennan will say. "In fact, as the pressure mounts on ISIL, we judge that it will intensify its global terror campaign to maintain its dominance of the global terrorism agenda."

If we would just ban guns in Syria and Iraq, the terrorists would stop killing people.

Terrorists and ISIS soldiers are two different assets. The loss of soldiers does not affect terrorists who are already in place in the target countries.

The amazing thing about the recent San Bernardino and Orlando attacks is the terrorists were out in the open on social media making threats and somehow didn’t get onto the radar screens at the FBI and other agencies. If you make a social media threat against the president your door will be smashed down in days. So, they are monitoring those venues. But, apparently, they are looking for tea partiers. None are so blind as those who refuse to see.

Muzzie pass so they aren’t offended. Not to mention that “expanded” background checks won’t slow them down in country either. It’s those dang right wing extremists you have to be wary of. You know folks who fly the American flag and who may have served in the military.

ISIS (Taliban, el Shabab, abu Sayaff, etc.) are the hydra. Cut off one head, two emerge. The answer is not to strike a single head but the entire body.

The major issue is their highly successful "inspiration" for lone wolf terrorists. The San Bernardino shooters and the shooter at the nightclub in Orlando, FL belong in that category, in my humble opinion.

The Muslim-in-Chief insists in ISIL, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant because the Levant includes Israel.

ISIS = Islamic State of Syria and Iraq

Nothing from our current CIA director can be believed. He is a muslim also.

At the absolute minimum anything short of 4-digit casualties sustained on a daily basis isn’t gonna put a d@mn DENT ibn their numbers.

Westerners who are truly perplexed on this first need to read a history book and see how many hostiles need to die to win a typical conflict. They’re also likely forgetting that these people don’t let their women become unpaid childless prostitutes and having ~6 kids or more is common instead of almost-unheard-of...in other words, they have reserves. A lot of ‘em.
