...If he has immunity WHY would he be interested in taking the 5th..?

I don’t get it....

Simple. The deposition he took the 5th in is a CIVIL deposition. He has Federal immunity. If he slips up and says something different in a sworn civil testimony versus what he tells the Feds, they cancel the agreement. A person with criminal immunity should only talk to those who control his immunity. Makes legal sense. People get confused sometimes under civil cross examination and it’s easy to say something you don’t mean or is taken out of context.

As we previously learned, Pagliano only received limited immunity from the FBI, meaning that he couldn’t be prosecuted using any of the information he provided to them during their interviews. He’s not free an clear from any prosecution, however, so he can still take the Fifth here.
