I forgot to add that I fired a friend’s AR 15 and the recoil wasn’t much more than that of my .22 mag rifle.

Well, this leftist must also be a southpaw. But "disoriented me?" OH PLEASE!!!

I used to have an original version of Colt's commercial CAR-15, pre-A1, so it didn't have the little case deflector "nub." I wear glasses, so it was a bit annoying when the ejected shells would hit the frame of my glasses, but while a bit distracting, certainly NOT disorienting!

All it took was move to an A2 and the problem magically disappeared!

Same here. Cut my teeth on a 45-70 trapdoor 1873 Springfield. My brother still has it. We get it out every couple of years.
