Freedom of the Press does not give the press the right to unfettered access to the people they wish to criticize. These people are complete morons who lack common sense and simple reasoning abilities.
Freedom of the press implies an obligation by the press to tell the truth and to be unbiased.
With today’s journalistic bent towards an op-ed bent rather than shoe leather reporting I’m rather surprisesd this hadn’t happened sooner.
The people have a right to know and to read what is actually happening, and not what is being conjured up as informational propaganda. Political agenda has no place in the first amendment.
The First Amendment guarantees the right of a free press TO THE PEOPLE; it does NOT guarantee the right of the New York Times or the Washington Post to exist in perpetuity.
If those "press" outlets fail to provide an honest product, a new press will emerge to replace them. "They" are not protected, the right of a free press is.
