If was launched from a naval vessel, the ship’s crew would all have knowledge of the event. I’m sure they could have all been sworn to secrecy. Over time you would think something would leak.

No, the ship's 'crew' would not. IF it was a missile, which ship was it from ? An American on or one of the other nationality of vessels participating in the exercise ?

How many missiles were they firing that day ? Who would know one from the other ? How many of the crew were in a position to know or see the missile being fired ?

What if it wasn't a MISSILE, but was a DRONE that hit the TWA800 flight ?

They found rocket propellant on the seats of TWA800, but no explosive residue. DRONES use rocket propellant, but have dummy warheads with no explosives.

It could be only a few people on board knew. It is not like many people on the ship, at night, can see outside.
