Yes, I see him too. He’s wearing all red, probably a cardinal. If so, he might be a papal nuncio. Probably a Turkish ambassador was present, probably, as a Muslim he wasn’t allowed to an Orthodox service (and the coronation was one).
The Ottoman Empire and Imperial Russia were not on speaking terms at that time, IIRC................

The artist who painted that scene was absolutely photographic quality. If you expand it is amazing the details and faces look real down to the last detail.................
Sure - it's an official painting from the pre-photography era (1881).
Thanks milton23.
Sorry, but I don’t buy the idea that Putin is pro-Russian Empire. Pro-Soviet Union, especially under Stalin? Sure. But not pro-Russian Empire. If he were pro-Russian Empire, he’d probably try to make sure Karl Marx’s statue is torn down, Lenin’s mausoleum is dismantled, and the Communist party is banned, not to mention make darn sure that there are statues and plenty of other memorabilia of the various Russian Czars being sold to everyone, literature promoting the old Russian Empire. That’s how I would do it had I been in his position.
