SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Authorities in Santa Monica arrested an Indiana man Sunday morning ahead of the LA PRIDE parade in nearby West Hollywood after the discovery of possible explosives in a car, according to California law enforcement.
Just before 3 p.m. ET, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti told the Associated Press a heavily armed man was arrested, and that man told police during his arrest he was going to the PRIDE parade. Investigators removed items from the suspect's white Acura sedan and placed them on the sidewalk near the driver's side door, according to KNBC.
Santa Monica Chief of Police Jacqueline Seabrooks identified the suspect on her official Twitter feed as James Howell of Indiana. She said Howell told officers he wanted to harm the PRIDE event. Chief Seabrooks said he was arrested for weapons and explosive materials possession.

He was arrested by the Santa Monica PD on 11th Street near Olympic Blvd in Santa Monica. The parade was approximately 7 miles away in West Hollywood.
What evidence is there that he intended to drive to the parade?

It has to have super sonic impact, like from a center fire rifle for detonation, or, placed in a pipe bomb and detonated with a black powder device, such as a small cylinder like a co2 cartridge filled with powder and lit with fuse in side with the tannerite.
