The reason is, that is a SCAM widely practiced in this country. Dopes are routinely marrying foreigners and having this happen to them.
Because then the Obama administration lets the woman STAY PERMANENTLY in this country, with special privileges and hand-outs for being a "battered-woman"
I saw this happen to an acquaintance who is no-way-in-hell ever violent or ever out of control. HE had to pay all of HER legal bills, plus his own, which became horrendous!
You are right on the mark. The marriage visa is a big scam. It is also an industry with big money involved. The fact that they were separated after just a few months and that she said he had homosexual tendencies set off alarm bells for me.
You are right. It’s even worse in California (maybe everywhere): Here, an illegal only has to report a crime, any crime (real or not), and on the police report the officer MUST check a box that says “Cooperating with law enforcement in pending case.’ That document alone prevents deportation (as if they needed it).
Wife #1 gives off the gold-digger vibe so I don’t believe much of what she says, except when she said they were only living together 4 months (which I don’t think is long enough for auto citizenship) and took 2 years to get a divorce (word used in articles) (here in Calif such a brief marriage would be handled by a dissolution, as in, never happened). She probably thought she was marrying the son of the future Afgan president and when she realized she landed a security guard instead, she went grasshopper back to Daddy. Now she’s looking to be a mail-order bride twice-over with Mr. Brazil, the nonprofit treehugger, and seems to have gone from muslim to gaia worshipper in a matter of a few weeks, with earrings to match, no less. Somebody should ask her if she’s leaving America to become a Brazilian citizen or if she’s angling American citizenship for Mr. Brazil.
That I can certainly agree should be examined with some discrimination, all the time.
We should ban the practice of “mail order brides!” You go somewhere outside the country and meet some one, marry them and return. That’s o.k. but this business of “buying yourself” a bride over the internet should be stopped.
