The suspected Islamic extremist who killed about 50 people after taking party-goers hostage inside a gay club in Orlando has been identified.
Law enforcement sources have identified the shooter, who was wielding an AR-15 assault rifle and a handgun, as US citizen Omar Mateen, 29, from Port St. Lucie in Florida.
At least 50 people were killed and 53 others were injured in the shooting in the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
An FBI spokesman said the mass shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism, (DOH!!!!!!)

Drives me crazy. What stopped this nut from killing more people? A GUN! Why wait for a good gun to show up? Clubs and public venues like this should have mandatory 1 armed guard for every 50 people. That’s REAL gun reform legislation.
I still do not understand why the police spent 3 hours talking to the Muslim terrorist while 50 people were laying on the floor bleeding to death. The police new these people were bleeding out and yet they decided to talk and hide behind their cars for 3 hours. Most of these folks could have been saved if the police had ended it in the golden hour. Politically incorrrect? You betcha.
