Romney says Trump will change America with 'trickle-down racism'
CNN ^ | June 10, 2016 | Theodore Schleifer

Posted on 06/10/2016 3:51:27 PM PDT by Trump20162020

Park City, Utah (CNN) — Mitt Romney suggested Friday that Donald Trump's election could legitimize racism and misogyny, ushering in a change in the moral fabric of American society.

The 2012 Republican nominee, who has openly opposed Trump's candidacy, went further than he has before in outlining to CNN's Wolf Blitzer how the country's character would suffer in a Trump White House. Trump's rhetoric has caused even some other Republicans to label him a racist, and Romney said he would not be able to paper over his incendiary remarks.

"I don't want to see trickle-down racism" Romney said in an interview here in a suite overlooking the Wasatch Mountains, where he is hosting his yearly ideas conference. "I don't want to see a president of the United States saying things which change the character of the generations of Americans that are following. Presidents have an impact on the nature of our nation, and trickle-down racism, trickle-down bigotry, trickle-down misogyny, all these things are extraordinarily dangerous to the heart and character of America."

Romney, who actively sought to recruit an independent, third-party challenger to Trump, also conceded that a credible candidate will not emerge. But he did show a new openness to one non-Trump candidate, libertarian Gary Johnson, whom he did not rule out voting for.

Romney is such a small petty sob.

People whose primary concerns are “racism and misogyny” are unlikely to vote Republican anyway.

I vote for Trump because MY primary concern is that my offspring be safe from violence, and have jobs which will allow them to maintain a middle-class standard of living.

Why didn’t he attack Obama the way he attacks Trump? Why not point out that Hillary and Obama BOTH push racism? Black Lives Matter, anyone?

The only term I can come up with for Romney is ‘asshat’. Was not thrilled with him in 2012 but never expected him to fall this low.

What would you expect from the godfather of Gay Marriage, ROmbamaCare, Assault Weapons Ban, & Global Warming Alarmism? And he is applauded by the RINO-right.

I’m damn glad I refused to vote for this varmint shooting, severe conservative.

It really pisses me off when the Media say “conservatives” don’t support Trump. No, it is mostly squishy, liberal GOPe capons like Mitt, Hugh Hewitt, and Mark Kirk.

it is the altruism and collectivism of libtardism, and the statism and force of mixed economy that causes special interest group and pressure group warfare and divisiveness.

There is no creature on God’s green earth that is lower and more despicable than Mitt Romney.

His verbal arson is designed to destroy Trump, and he doesn’t care one whit if he burns down innocents in the process.

This is the kind of identity politics that has driven the left to intolerance, created a permanent victim mentality and coming from the GOP standard bearer of the last election, will be used by the left as an excuse for San Jose on a grand scale.

I may not ever forgive myself for voting for him.

And this is the Republican party that says it represents conservatism.

The GOP is dead, and the autopsy will show it died of burns suffered when it let idiot Mitt play with fire.

As one who has voted for Romney on at least 4 occasions and held long term affinity and support for him, I am absolutely appalled at his newly purposed political activism this year.

I seriously believed that some of his political positions expressed, and acted upon, while he was Governor here, were simply calculated, pragmatic choices, designed to help him attain the office where he could really fix a few things.

Many FReepers warned me about him in 2012 and in other years. They were so correct, and I was so wrong. I owe so many apologies that it is not possible to express them all individually.

I simply cannot believe that I could so misjudge a man.

I am shamed.

I’m still voting for Trump buy now I’m consider not voting for anyone in the GOP for any office. The fact that the rest of the party hasn’t slapped down these sore losers reveals a lot of their lack of basic loyality.

Romney refused to campaign to the 47% of US citizens who he felt were incapable of supporting what his campaign issues were. Trump brings his massive rallies, open to all, to every corner of the US. And Romney is accusing Trump of racism??

Romney is one sick, delusional creep.

Obviously the country club corporate class is not like us. And to think all we accomplished of a conservative nature over the last thirty years was to lower their taxes.

There was a creepy movie in the 60’s or 70’s. The movie was about this guy and his pet rat named Willard...
Somehow I never knew anyone named “willard” until one came along that liked to use the name MITT instead...probably because he is creepy too...GO AWAY WILLARD....you are a RAT!

the impulse is well understood. It might be better to get them at the subsequent midterms. give them one go around with Mr T.
