A look at the justices might help explain this ruling...
You know, my biggest problem with that picture is that they’re impersonating patriarchs.
(Yeah. if that looks a little like Saint Nicholas, it’s because he was traditionally pictured in his bishop’s robes. When Santa was secularized, they toned down the religious dress a little.)
Well, there are nine justices, and the ruling was 7 to 1, so that means that perhaps somebody recused himself. And no, I definitely do NOT want to know the reason why.
