I am not sure that it was friendly fire, but let's answer your question.

While everyone on one ship might be aware a missile was fired, how many missiles did that ship fire that day ? How many ships were firing missiles ? (this was a military exercise including ships from many countries).

How many men 'on the ship' were standing around on deck watching the sky ?

Have you considered the alternative ? That it wasn't a 'missile', per se, but one of the drones the missiles were to be aimed at ?

The reports of seeing what first appeared to be a firework had always led me to believe it to be a stray meteor from the Perseid shower.

I've seen meteors rise from the horizon at dusk and they do appear to be fireworks until they do not slow and arc but appear to speed up as they approach and pass overhead.

Witness #1

A little before 8:30 p.m. that night, I surfaced to get some air. I was talking to one of the many men working with me when I saw what looked like a cheap firework rising from beyond the houses along the beach. This wasn’t out of the ordinary for a summer weekday so close to the 4th of July

I watched as the sparkling white light zigzagged southeast away from shore at about a 40-degree angle. At its peak, it arched over and disappeared.

Could this have been the nose of the plane after impact with a meteor or even the meteor itself?

Then I saw what appeared to be an explosion, it expanded into a large fireball, and then I watched the aircraft in flames descend from the fireball and fall to the sea, breaking up as it fell.

Could this have been the rest of the plane?

Understand, in no way am I discounting this witness's account. Merely trying to explain how a meteor strike could coincide with the account.

Thanks for your input. It has raised questions in my mind. I wrote them below..

You actually saw the radar tape that showed TWA 800 from at least 5-10 seconds before the explosion until the actual explosion?

At what altitude would the missile become visible to radar?

If it was in close proximity to the aircraft both in latitude and longitude, how distinguishable would a missile with predominately vertical trajectory show up on radar as separate from the aircraft?

Also, if it was a missile that brought down the aircraft, could it have been terrorists using military missiles, U.S. made or otherwise?

There is no record of ANY terrorist ever getting a STANDARD, much less a launcher to fire it from.

Yet there is not on single iota of evidence that any ship anywhere in that vicinity released a STANDARD missile that day. Not one single sailor or officer alluding to such. Moreover, the radar tape that I have seen shows NO other object approaching 800.

How many drones were flying around that day (this was a naval exercise and there were drones being used)? How many of them showed up on radar?

Third, there is no evidence of a missile strike on any of the 800 debris. There was “red residue” on SOME of the seats, which conspiracy people attribute to a “pass-through” missile. 1) This isn’t proven by any stretch; 2) a STANDARD is not a “pass through” missile. It carries an explosive warhead that wouldn’t even leave this kind of evidence.

A drone carries no explosive charge. And guess what color the drones are painted ?

My uncle was TWA mechanic ,at Kennedy, when this happened. He’s known about this fellow Wire for years. He said the FBI took total control of the retrieved debris and that Suffolk County authorities had no access. he also said that if they were so sure that this was a center fuel tank explosion why were no planes ever grounded.
Clinton also had a closed door meeting with victims families..nough said.
He’s told much more but it’s very involved.

Who? 03 July 1988 the U.S. Navy shot down Flt 655 an Iranian airliner with 290 people on it. 17 July 1996 Flt 800 goes down, this is not hard to figure out.

1) Target drones are very big, not an Amazon drone.

2) Target drones are painted all colors.

3) The red residue was not from paint that came off. It was supposedly caused by the engine exhaust as it passed through-—no, I don’t know the physics/chemistry of that process.
