Donald Trump courted further controversy last week after he slammed Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over a class action lawsuit against him, because of his Mexican ancestry. Trump claimed that Curiel, who was born in Indiana to Mexican parents, would not give him a fair trial because of Trump's policy of building a wall between the US and Mexico. The complaint, which Trump has doubled down on, was widely criticized and even prominent Republicans condemned the statement as racist.
The latest research from YouGov shows that only 20% of Americans think that Donald Trump was right to complain that Judge Gonzalo had a 'conflict of interest' because of his Mexican ancestry. Most Americans (57%) think Trump was wrong in his complaint. Even Republicans are divided on whether Trump's complaint was right or wrong, with 43% saying it was right but 39% saying that it was wrong.
What a large majority of Republicans do agree on, however, is that Donald Trump's comments weren't racist. Only 22% of Republicans say that the comments were racist. In comparison 81% of Democrats and 44% of independents say that the comments were racist.

BUSTED: Mamas Records Show #JudgeCuriel Was An Anchor Baby! #SanJose
Using polls to push a narrative.
Judge was born in 1953. Mother naturalized in 1969

No naturalization record found yet for father.
Barak Obama is the most racist President in modern history...the cries of racism are starting to fall on deaf and dgaf ears.
Did either Ryan or McConnell ever utter a peep about the Mexican flag waving, American flag burning howling mobs who have been attacking Trump supporters now for months? If they have, I sure haven’t heard them. Just think if they had fought even half as hard against 0bama as they have against Trump, we might not be in the mess we are in now.
No matter who the GOP nominee is was or ever shall be, the Dems will call him a racist....time to move on and stop caring about this crap.
Very interesting development indeed that the judge was an anchor baby. Hope they can determine that dad was not a citizen. Thanks.
Given the way it was covered in the press. The fact that only 57% say his statement was wrong is a good sign that people are in fact paying attention.
Notice the spin in the story. 57% said it was WRONG. They did not say it was racist, they said it was wrong. Why they said it was wrong is not covered in the story.
Wrong and racist are not synonyms.
half the people were stupid enough to vote for obama
It means the organization polling was in charge of whom they hired to ask the questions and how they were asked and that there was not an independent party overseeing how the questions were asked or the sampling process.
It also means that Trump and his son-in-law need to do a better job at educating the ignorant, publik-skool-educated morons in this country on what LaR@za is and the relationship between his lawfirm and Hitlery.
It’s supposed to mean, a few points more than the opposing view.
My problem is the various angles of this article. Headline says “racist”, some results merely say “wrong”, but implied that doesn’t = “racist” necessarily. Wrong was 57% vs. whatever they didn’t print, presumably about 43%. That’s actually not that slim.
Mexican is not a race, it is a Nationality.
The National Council of The Race and all the associated groups that are based on The Race are the racists.
DO NOT USE THE SPANISH AND HELP THEM HIDE THEIR RACISM.
