Fernandez made his first court appearance Tuesday and was charged with felony assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer, according to court documents. . . He could face a sentence of five years in prison if convicted on the felony assault with a deadly weapon charge, according to the prosecutors.
