I know a lot of people upset that an illegal immigrant student from Mexico whenever pays in state tuition but a kid who came from New Mexico last year pays two to three times as much as out of state tuition.
I guess many schools aren’t really on a 4.0 scale if some courses earn five points and students can score higher than 100 on some exams.

I got along with all the men in my department but not with the women. They knew better than to challenge me so they just left me alone. My best friend was the department secretary.

The advanced placement is a racist joke as TOO many of those students are either:
Chinese girls, young women
or
minority males who are WAY too obvious in their absence. They crash and burn because they don't belong there. It's NO favor to them.
Almost all the tokens crash and burn unless they happen to be very educated and/or intelligent. They just get to see, up close and personal, how deficient they are for competing with the rest of America.

Agreed! My grandfather immigrated here from Germany in 1930 and as an adult flew the American flag outside his house every day. It went out at dawn and came down at dusk. During winter there was a light to keep it properly illuminated. He was proudly patriotic and never lost sight of all that he was afforded here. Only English was spoken in public or when guests were over.
When he left the German economy had been in ruins and for years food had become incredibly dear. Everyone was eating turnips out of the forests (which were apparently abundant) but meat and bread were delicacies to be savored as they were rare.

AP and dual credit classes get the students higher GPAs. The AP tests are jokes half the time because you can make great grades all year but if your teacher doesn’t prepare you for the final test then you’ve wasted your time and money. Dual credit classes are a guaranteed college credit if you pass.
That little smart mouthed crimillegal likely already has a year or two of college under her belt from high school. With the year’s free ride from UT and the scholarships she’s received just for her illegal status (there are more of those than for your bright US white student - BTDT), she’ll get her degree for free.
After that, all she needs to do is kiss up to any uber lib Austin company or join La Raza and she’ll be running the city in no time. More “Keeping Austin Weird”.

Heh. There are companies that won’t hire people with very high GPAs. Too often these high GPA students are simply eggheads with the ability to memorize for and pass tests but don’t really understand any of it.
Valedictorian with a 4.5 GPA?
What kind of sorry a$$ high school is this?
My local high school, the valedictorian had a GPA of 5.1, is a national level swimmer and he’s going to West Point.
