Justice Dept. granted limited immunity to staffer in Clinton email probe

"Attorneys for a former State Department staffer who helped set up Hillary Clinton’s private email server said Tuesday that he was granted limited immunity by federal prosecutors in an ongoing Justice Department investigation and not shielded from prosecution in connection with other matters.

The disclosure came as Bryan Pagliano met a court deadline to disclose details of the agreement after he sought to invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination to avoid answering questions in a civil open-records lawsuit brought by the conservative group Judicial Watch.

Pagliano’s attorneys, led by Mark J. MacDougall, filed the agreement under terms that it be sealed from all but U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan of Washington.

In an accompanying filing, they explained that Pagliano entered into “use and derivative use” agreements with the Justice Department shortly after approaching it in December 2015 with a proposal to give testimony.

Absolutely! I’m just baffled at the endless accommodation for excuse after excuse after excuse on her part, the shades of meaning, the synthetic nuances. I’m sure we all are. People die, millions of not billions of dollars are stolen, countries fall into total chaos, and it’s all good. I’m just sick of 25 years of this crap.

“IOW, did she have a secure State email set up for her to use and did she use it?”

She had to have an address that classified documents could be sent. CIA wouldn’t send secrets to a non-secure, non-encripted server on the Internet. The server provided probably was not connected to the Internet. Now, how secrets got on Hillary’s server is the question isn’t it?

Sadly it’s also good that we are sick of the crap, it’s keeps us talking about it so that the “kids” may learn what they aren’t told about.

Thanks buddy, I’m pretty sure of it too. Pagliano is the only one of the players that does not have the same attorney representing all of the others.

Thank you for an additional question regarding CIA (presumption that she was in contact with them, they with her)?.

If the CIA sent to her email address, that makes them look pretty foolish, doesn’t it?

However, you do bring up another point... with whom does the SoS have access/communication to/with?

Just what is the access string of SoS? (note that by using “access” I’m not referring to the current political socialist colloquium of payment for services/votes)

Could be he approached DOJ to testify on advice of his attorneys. He set up the server, he set up the backup system, and who knows what else. He may have also handed keys to the server to others. At the very least his access to the server and making backups and giving access to others could be construed as a violation of the laws prohibiting transfer of secret documents and handling of secret documents without clearance. Hard to know exactly what went down at this point but plain reading of the law would seem to implicate him if in fact he did transfer and handle secret documents. It could be made worse if he made a backdoor for himself and surreptitiously read the emails and attachments out of curiosity.

You cannot plead the 5th if you are not at risk of being charged with a crime. It’s logical, you cannot incriminate yourself if you are immune from prosecution. That is why they grant immunity to key witnesses, to force them to reveal information. If he continues to refuse they charge him with obstruction and possibly revoke immunity and charge him with other crimes having to do with the handling and transfer of Hillary’s emails.

Why would they want him to talk?

Rumor has it that Obama will endorse Hillary within the next few days...signaling to Loretta Lynch that there will be no indictment. Now all they have to do is figure out how to dispose of the whole investigation with minimal political fallout.

The MSM is doing their part by ignoring the story as much as they can.

It would have to be the CIA since many of the overseas station chiefs work out of an embassy.
