The Reece Commission (53/54) and the Church Committee (75) showed that the country is run and being destroyed by unelected people and nothing came of these two.

Each time, the minority party screamed and yelled and in the end ruined each hearing. The 2 party system was broken from the start.

Here is a quote by Carroll Quigley that sums this up:

The argument of two parties should represent opposed ideas and policies, one perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to doctrinate and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can “throw the rascals out” at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy. The policies that are vital and necessary for America are no longer subjects of significant disagreement, but are disputable only in details of procedure, priority, or method.”

Carroll Quigely – “Tragedy and Hope” pp. 1247-1248

here’s another good quote from Quigley that liberals would hate:

More than fifty years ago, the Morgan firm decided to infiltrate the Left-wing political movements of the United States. This was relatively easy to do since these groups were starved for funds and eager for a voice to reach the people. Wall Street supplied both. The purpose was not to destroy, dominate, or take over but was really three-fold:
1) to keep informed about the Left-wing or liberal groups;
2) to provide them with a mouthpiece so they could blow off steam;
3) to have a final “veto” on their actions if they ever went radical.

- Carrol Quigley, Tragedy and Hope, 1966 - [Bill Clinton’s mentor and Georgetown University professor]

“The 2 party system was broken from the start.”

I could not agree more. I suppose a party system is theoretically useable if you are arguing the finer points of how to make America great, but wholly unuseable in an environment where neither side has American greatness as their true goal.
