Tucker doesn’t like getting into the mud. If Trump is going to deflect the Trump U criticism he has to tell his side of the story and the judge is a large part of why it even exists. He is tied at the hip to Hillary as well as being a Mexican who hates Trump.

Trump lets the press get away with the claim that he objects to the judge because of the judge's Mexican heritage. I don't think that is Trump's position, but that is what he says. This morning he is more or less sticking to it.

I think Trump's position is that this particular judge, with Mexican heritage, is so much against Trump's build-the-wall and no illegal immigration policy positions, that this particular judge with Mexican heritage is not impartial toward Trump.

But that is not what he says.

The press isn't very skilled at teasing this out. It could ask "Is there any judge with Mexican heritage that you would accept?" But, it has confirmation bias, in that it assumes Trump is racist, so whatever objection he has, has a racist motivation.
