It appears to be another hit job by the Duterte opponrnys.

I would say "welcome to FreeRepublic", but I'd wager this is a banned retread posting this drivel. My question is why post this on FreeRepublic? What narrative is trying to be accomplished?

I live in Davao City. Yesterday, President-elect Duterte was celebrating with friends at the "Crocodile Park", a local attraction with lots of wide open spaces. He repeated his threat to KILL the drug dealers and criminals. He doesn't want to jail them and carry that extra expense. He has offered his left-over campaign funds to reward those taking out these undesirables.

I am not a proponent or opponent. As a "foreigner" here, we are prohibited from political activity of any kind, upon threat of expulsion. I plan to live a long life here with my sweet Filipina wife. Duterte has a mandate from the election, gaining more than 6 million votes more than the second place establishment guy. He is there because he is unabashed in his desire to rid the criminals and corruption from the country.

But Mr Duterte has always been unapologetic about his methods.

“I admit I am 100 per cent terrorist but I am terrorising only the drug pushers, kidnappers, hold-up gangs and other criminals,” he said on TV in 2003. “Kidnappers, drug pushers from other places, I dare you to come over here so that I can finish you off.” ...
