North Korean-born sons of U.S. defector appear in propaganda video

By Dugald McConnell, Helen Jeong and Brian Todd, CNN

Updated 0210 GMT (1010 HKT) June 4, 2016

(CNN)Two brothers who grew up in North Korea and identify themselves as the sons of an American defector appeared together in a North Korean video this week, calling on the United States to stop its hostility toward Pyongyang.

Speaking fluent Korean, with a North Korean accent, James and Ted Dresnok blame "American imperialism" for the tensions on the Korean peninsula, and call on the U.S. to withdraw its forces from South Korea.

"The United States must abandon its anti-North Korean policy," Ted Dresnok says in the video. "The U.S. needs to wake up, reach a peace agreement with us, and leave South Korea. That's the only way to save itself."

Maybe the term Dresnok will take on the same connotation as the term:"Quisling."

They probably live quite well in Norkea. They are valuable assets to the Pyongyang regime. They are not really traitors or quislings as they were born there and I doubt they have been anywhere else.

Jim and Ted need to know that I could not care less that America is an aggressor to the Norkimpoops.

They both look evil and vile. Especially the one on the right. His eyes. His expression.

This is a diversity plan. The North Korean HR department is just showing that they are a equal opportunity nation.

Looks like a job application for the VP position on the Democrat ticket.

30 years ago would have been infuriated by their devotion to the communist world. Now with Russia no longer a threat (except in the diseased minds of neoconservatives like Kagan and Kristol) and China a sort of market economy, it really doesn’t matter that they want to live in the kook’s paradise. They just come across as oddities, spouting the party line on behalf of a lunatic and his failed system. North Korea really isn’t a threat to us, maybe to Seoul but they are about 60 times wealthier, could kick the snot out of them, ad its their back yard, not mine.

NK would take out most of Seoul in the first day of open hostilities.

The one in the uniform reminds me of the character Alec Guinness played in “Dr. Zhivago’’.
