PORTLAND, Ore. In the midst of discussion about transgender restroom issues, an Oregon woman is speaking out to tell her story after a man who identifies as a woman was permitted to share sleeping and restroom space with women at an all-womens shelter.
Malka Davis, a formerly homeless woman, recently penned an op-ed for the Oregonian, in which she explained why she believes it was wrong for the shelter to allow the man to live at the facility among dozens of females.
The incident occurred in 2014 as Davis was seeking to put her life back together. She recounted that a few weeks into her stay that some of the other women seemed to be in distress, and came to find out that it was because a man who self-identified as a woman was in their midst. One woman even left altogether.
The realization that a man was going to be sharing sleeping and bathroom space with us (in this particular area, there are no private or even semi-private rooms) was understandably met with tremendous anxiety, and, yes, even outrage, Davis wrote.

It’s Portland so all is well.
Outrage away, Malka. You're on the short end of the victimhood stick. Tell Hillary.
Yet this is where we are. If we are going to allow men who self identify as women into women’s spaces, this is what we get.
Obama has decreed that this is how it shall be in public schools. The same reasoning will be applied to all areas of life, just was was dine in this women’s shelter. It doesn’t matter to the liberals who decree these policies of the collateral damage done. All that matters is making their political statement, and bending over backwards to.price they are liberal.
Shut up and take it, you bigot!
The reason for these shelters is so that women are safe from predators. They're often the victims of abusive situations. A situation has now been created where they'll feel more safe and in control in the streets.
Perhaps the asshole goes and gets another asshole ... or maybe even two more assholes ..... and they confer amongst themselves and decide ...
OK ... sign here
Sorry, sweetie, trannies are more protected than natural women needing shelter, and your lack of approval reinforcement will be noted on your record for bunk priority.
My sister had schizophrenia. She believed she was a male and even wore a binder for her breasts. But she had many personalities would change month to month God bless her.
LIberals get hoisted on their own petards, I love it.
Logical Lefties, .....riiiight....
With all this talk of “SAFE SPACE”, why is it women can’t even feel safe in the toilet ?
Men can identify as women to get women’s set asides?
What’s going to happen when some wife-beater finds out where his ex is staying, gets dolled up like a woman just long enough to get into the shelter and beats the daylights out of her, or worse? Who will take responsibility for that?
Not the people who made up these insane policies. Being a liberal means you never have to answer for the harm you do to others.
Only in Oregon?
Didn't know at first that she as a he, but --- selecting just one story, and long story short --- there was a teen guy on a Court-ordered diversion program who was doing "Community Service" cutting our lawn and hedges, and Carolyn/Marilyn invited him upstairs to "see something."
I cottoned onto that in less than 10 seconds and bellowed up the stairs, "Craig! Carolyn! Come down here NOW!" Down they both thundered down the stairs. "We didn't do anything I swear! We didn't do anything!"
"And you're not going to, either" was my retort.
I actually didn't want to bust either of them on a technical violation, but it wasn't long before they both broke the rules again, and I reported them both.
When the cops came to settle their hash, they told us (they knew, but hadn't told us before) that "Carolyn" was actually a male.
When the other women at the shelter found out, they were all rightfully indignant.
Back then tranny-ism didn't trump women's safety and privacy.

No. But a woman in Oregon wrote about her experience staying in a women’s shelter which allowed a man to stay there, and it was published in the local paper. That’s what this article is talking about. See the article.
