“The players own the PGA Tour and they don’t like Doral”

Why don’t they like Doral?

Today the PGA said it has nothing to do with politics. They say they couldn’t get sponsors at Trump’s place. I don’t doubt it. EVERY ELITE in this country is afraid of Trump.

They are obviously making a STATEMENT to Trump and his supporters that Mexicans come first!

Why don’t they like Doral?

...

They don’t like the course or the location, though Trump really did fix up the place.

The main factor is Cadillac did not renew. Did Obama threaten them? Who knows, but I wouldn’t put it past him. Doral has had trouble getting sponsors for many years.

During a Tuesday interview with Fox News, the Republican presidential hopeful
seemed very irritated by the PGA’s decision to cut ties. “They’re moving it to
Mexico City which, by the way, I hope they have kidnapping insurance,” he said.”

****************

I bet he was irritated as Trump has spent some $250 million over the past few
years renovating the facility including the course, hotel, other facilities, etc.

Yes, I read the thread. I also read the article. Nothing in either explains your comment.

This coming from an organization that has played tournaments at courses that have banned women and blacks from membership all over the world? This must have many players cringing.

We played at a course in Puerto Vallarta about twenty years ago. No carts and we each had a caddy and walked the course. Course was okay but lots of water and reeds. Plenty cheap but it was obvious that they don’t think women should play golf.

Our flight out of Houston on Aero Mexico had mechanical issue so they rerouted us to Mexico City on Lufthansa and then to PV from there. Had to recheck luggage at counter in Mexico City. No one to carry golf clubs or bags for us and it was a LONG walk. Decided if we ever went back to Mexico, it would be to play tennis, not golf.
