I have not listened to Rush but very rarely, the last few years. I had the distinct impression that he compromised principle to not have to attack Bush II--a terrible mistake. Bush II totally ignored the purpose of the Constitution--in many areas--but especially as to lines of dissent--the avowed, clearly stated, purpose as to the Founders' "posterity." You cannot claim to be a Conservative Constitutionalist and embrace the idiocy that America is all about an abstract ideology.

Rush showed understanding of ethnic realities when Clinton was President. He seemed to stick his head in the sand when Bush II continued the same policies of betrayal.

“I had the distinct impression that he compromised principle to not have to attack Bush II—a terrible mistake.”

I couldn’t tell if it was compromise or he simply liked what Dubya was serving. Maybe a bit of both. Rush loves getting attention from ‘important people’, you can tell that he thinks it validates him. It doesn’t surprise me that Rush did one thing under Clinton and then another under Dubya. He craves being admitted to the club. He’s hardly a Sam Francis or a Joe Sobran willing to risk himself over a position that could cost him something.

Maybe you’re talking about this, where he explains why free trade has been beneficial for working class Americans and how our borders can and should be controlled and we should restrict immigration to prevent low-skilled workers from entering?

You think this nonentity is going to run on stopping all third world immigration & closing down free trade as a National Review writer & a GOPe whore running to stop Trump ? He’s a put-up job for the “Chamber of Commerce”. I’m not going to waste my time checking out his so-called career at NR....you know if he runs, he runs as a stooge for the open borders free trade crowd.

Bill Buckley showed the same characteristic when he distanced himself from more down to earth Conservatives in the 1960s. It is sad--not because of the damage to their own reputations;--the problem is that in their moral weakness, they undermine what ever good they have been able to do.

Thousands of little betrayals are destroying the achievements of far greater men, in a bolder more ethical age.

Well for those of us who have been involved in the immigration fight all the way back to Prop 187 in 1994 Rush’s lack of help is all too well known.

A number of very prominent players in border activism whom I know approached Rush at various conservative gatherings and asked him to get involved. He wasn’t interested, he’d parrot the Wall Street Journal’s usual bull**** line and wouldn’t even take calls on the subject on his show.

This went on for at least a decade until the huge fight erupted over Dubya’s attempted amnesty, and then after doing nothing Rush ran as fast as he could to the front of the pitchfork wielding mob to tell us that he’s our leader. I’m glad to have him aboard when he shows up but he’s mostly useless on the subject. And least he isn’t working against us anymore.

Yep. Buckley wound down his career in a sad episode of betrayal and cowardice. Although to be fair WFB did help Sobran financially after he had participated in his destruction. Maybe that balances out. Sobran virtually worshipped Buckley at one time. An unworthy hero as it happened.

Rush is well known for screwing us over on the Prop 187 fight along with Kemp & Bennett who came to CA & attacked conservatives who were try to get the “rule of law” obeyed.

You do know your history. And there was a third prominent GOPe backstabber besides Kemp and Bennett who flew out to California to side with illegal aliens against grassroots America. And that was the then-Governor of Texas, one GW Bush. He never, ever got my vote.

“Why? Because you believe in the global warming fraud? Coal is a great source of energy, and we have hundreds of years worth in the ground.”

You are preaching to the choir.

The problem is, coal-fired power plants are billion-dollar installations with lifetimes of 35-50+ years. Do you think that any company would be so stupid to build another one, knowing that another Democrat/Obama is never more than four years away for those 35-50 years? THAT’S the real “legacy” of Obama, which will outlast him.

Rush realized if he continues to piss us and Trump off, he’ll just be another Glenn Beck. I don’t care how much he comes around...I’m sick of the old whore.

You’re really all over the place. Where did I say anything about voting for him? I am commenting on the article and your inaccurate replies to me that follow. You have been shown via two articles that he’s not the open-borders guy that many here are claiming he is, and have produced nothing that proves he is and continue on with the nonsense about him being an open borders guy. The honorable thing would be to correct people, as best you can, that they are wrong about the open-borders part when you see/hear it, don’t you think? You won’t waste time actually reading what the guy wrote, but you’ll take the time to spread lies about him? I mean, if you’re going to talk about someone you should have some actual knowledge about that person beside the rumors thrown about by the ill-informed here. Right?

A put up job for the Chamber of Commerce? Source/link for that claim?

Sounds just like the liberals who told us we needed to get out of California if we didn’t like the illegal alien invasion. It’s more than curious how the rinos want to preserve the invader’s culture while destroying ours!

Did I not read French say, in his article in defense of Kevin Williamson & I quote: “These are strong words, but they are fundamentally true and important to say”. French was approving of what Williamson said. Williamson said mass immigration WAS not a problem. Immigrants from Mexico are not the problem. French approved of this. There’s your open borders pimp, right there, in plain English.

I did not want to go too deep(researching his prior positions)into the weeds with the other poster I’ve been engaging in about French because of this obvious fact: if French gets enough votes he will put Hillary in the White House. That alone makes him a degenerate in my book. He deserves NO respect.

Would YOU consider moving to Vietnam to get a job?

As an ex-pat with all the expat goodies? Hell yeah.

For forever? No.
