I used to live in Michigan and often rode my bike to work. It was about 16 miles each way and passed an awesome veterans memorial park.
They had a Huey Helicopter and an F-4 jet on pedestals high in the air. Once every couple years, the Vietnam Vets moving Memorial would be at the park.
One morning, about 6am, I’m riding past and decided to stop and pay my respects. There was fog about a foot deep wafting over the park.
A vet came out of the trailer to talk with me. I could only stay for a few minutes and had to get on my way. I thanked him and hopped on my bike. About 200 yards away, I had to stop and collect my emotions. I was actually crying in thanks for the sacrifice of all the Vietnam vets.
I now live north of DC and can go to the big memorial any time I want. I’m actually more moved by the portable one than the permanent memorial.
Been also to the Vietnam Memorial, the real memorial in D.C. as well years ago.

Where? I’m in Montgomery County
I know it well, I went to "Gun-Stock" a couple of times with the main draw being the Late and Great Mark Scott, "Excelsior my Friend"!
