Obama would have let 250,000 GIs get killed, 500,000 get wounded, and 10 million more Japanese get killed just so that he could feel morally superior. Obama said that people’s morality had to evolve as fast as technology evolved. In other words, he thinks that dropping the bombs was immoral. So he wouldn’t have done it. He would have let all of those needless deaths occur, so that he could feel superior to the GIs and everyone else. All of those lives get sacrificed for his ego.

Think how many lives have been needlessly lost in the Middle East so that Obama can remain above the fray.

His moral superiority complex has already cost thousands of casualties.

I’m a grown man, an Albertan, and I’d have a very hard time keeping to together if I went there.

I’ve never been, and would like to go, but I’m inclined to only go places I can drive these days.

Your son sounds like he has a good heart, may God bless you and your family.

He's an Aerospace Engineer building (US Def Dept ) Modern / Advanced Rockets.

He's been to Test launch sites in Hawaii, Wake, Midway and all over the American S.E. & S. W.

That all goes with the Pearl Harbor USS Arizona picture in his office that he put up, with the sign saying

"NEVER AGAIN!"

What a poignant moment! It reminds me of my son who cried when he saw The Inn of the Sixth Happiness, when Ingrid Bergman flees with scores of children from the Japanese Army. Crying, he kept repeating “Mom, they can come here, I have a lot of space in my room, we can put sleeping bags down”. The pure state of being of children not yet changed by the world.

Using fascist means?

What is fascist about declaring that an organization dedicated to subverting the US Constitution is subversive?

We might not be this far down the road to losing the Republic if people called things what they are.

Islam the Religion of Peace? No. In fact, just the opposite.

Democrats democratic? No, they govern like Dictators and Tyrants.

Hillary neglected to release all of her eMails. No - She LIED, not neglected.

Muslims yelling Allahu Akbar while killing non-muslims is Workplace Violence? No, it's muslim terrorism.

Choosing or rejecting someone on the basis of their skin color is Affirmative Action? No, it is blatant racial discrimination.

Obama probably approved of Pearl Harbor, because the Japs were trying to kick the British Colonialists out of Asia.

One of the most incredible experiences I’ve had. You cannot help but be humbled and silent the entire time you’re at the memorial.

I had no family involved, but I wept. It’s impossible to be unaffected by the magnitude of the sacrifice.

Those nukes saved my dad’s life. He had just finished in Germany and was on a ship headed to Japan when the Japanese surrendered. Without the bombs I would not be here.

Nor would I. My dad was Navy UDT and was to be the first in on the invasion. He would have surely been killed as well fortified the Japanese island was then. Oh, he would not have made it for sure. Thank you President Truman!

The biggest mistake we make is not teaching history in context to the time it occurred. People thought learning dates of important things was a waste of time but that is basic to any real understanding of history. Having even a vague timeline of when things happened in your mind helps to better understand why they happened.

Taking one thing in history without knowledge and thought of what was going on in the area and even the rest of the world at the time leads to not understanding any major event. Often this is how history is taught now though. We have to try to see why things happened the way they did, we cannot use our experiences, etc. to judge the past. What happened in the past is not comparable in any way to what we are familiar with.

Bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki sounds absolutely horrible, but with what led up to it and the way the Japanese were fighting the war, especially the island fighting (no surrendering) it is perfectly logical that anything that would just end it was a pretty promising option.

People can say what they want now, I know at the time people were convinced if Japan had to be invaded millions would die, not just on our side but Japanese as well. It was their homeland and would have had a terrible toll on civilians- yes worse than our bombing them.

Apologize for something our country did in the past? No I will never agree with that. We had reasons for what we did, we were fighting to win as we always should or not fight at all. I will not apologize for our military, our country, our allies winning the war.
