Yalta Agreement REQUIRED Stalin to be in on the conquest of the Japanese Home Islands WITHIN SIX MONTHS of Hitler’s fall.
ALL early intel suggested Stalin would NOT simply be a liberator of new lands, that HE WOULD STAY.
The atom bomb gave the USA a way to totally exclude the Soviets, thereby preserving the national sub-division fate that befell Germany, Korea and later Vietnam.
We would have had North Japan/South Japan, much as Korea today.
The Japanese accepted defeat cuz they knew the Soviets would HANG their Emperor, much as they’d earlier killed the Czar and his family.
NOTE:
The ONLY land Japan lost that is STILL lost to them was lost to the Soviets —two islands near Hokkaido.
They kept their Emperor and avoided being subdivided.
IDIOTS.
The real reason the Left disapproved using the A-Bomb, it kept the Soviets out of Japan.
