Tribe is honest about his interpretation of the Constitution and never claimed to be an originalist. Fair enough - he believes the document is a rough outline subject to interpretation to suit the wills of the current times.

Cruz has made himself out to be a purist whose mission was preserving the original intent of the founders. It’s plain obvious that he, Rafael Crux, has exempted himself from his own originalist interpretation.

Cruz is duplicitous; it’s is a huge conflict that can not be rationalized or truthfully explained.

Perfectly and concisely expressed Beautiful_Skies. I envy your skill at using so few words to make the point.

After Obama, whom many of us have to thank for inspiring us to actually learn about our Constitution rather than trust the legal opinions of media pundits, Cruz’ interpretation of natural born citizenship was obviously not just wrong, but a lie. What initially came as a surprise was Mark Levin’s unflagging and incongruous patronage o Cruz, particularly given Levin’s excellent paragraphs defining constitutional originalism on Levin’s “Liberty and Tyranny” (p36) To see presumably conservative pundit’s avoidance of USOC opinions, using the ploy Larry Tribe used in his and Ted Olson’s legal misdirection in Senate Resolution 511 hearings. Ribe and Olson failed to note taht the First Congress’ Naturalization Act was completely rescinded in 1795.

It will be a surprise if Levin and others don’t lose audience share. I know he has lost me. Beck, while he was advocating original sources, raised some good points. He clearly went off the rails and forgot what he was preaching five or years before. Ann Coulter had the integrity to admit her original ignorance of the law. Even if our government doesn’t honor, defend and respect the Constitution there are a few voices in the media who do. But they is not always easy to differentiate. A couple of surprised to this reader are a self-declared originalist “constitutional originalist” who calls herself “Publius Hildah”, who cites the rescinded !st Congress Naturalization Act, and Hlllsdale College, which has never had the courage to address the truth about Obama, Cruz, Rubio, Jindal, Haley, but sells itself as a source of Constitutional Conservatism. As Beck once preached, read the sources yourself.

A new source for this reader, even though she missed subtle sloppiness of Publius Hildah (Hildah still opined the ineligibility of Cruz, Rubio, et. al., but incorrectly cited the 1790 Act, which may have been sloppiness, but can’t be ignored)is Krisanne Hall, Krisannehall.com, is full of law and legal history that is missing from our mainstream media, and on radio and YouTube every day with fearless analysis of legal perfidy as hit happens, explaining what actions do and don’t conform to constitutional limitations on our government.
