A core Principle of Conservatism requires Prudence in its leaders; assessing the impact on the future of actions taken in the now.
In September of 1914, Britain chose to enter the Great War, a conflict in which it had neither reason nor stake, because of its fear and loathing of an ascendant Germany; and the consequences of this were fateful.
Suffering enormous casualties, its ruling class was discredited, the Liberals never held power again and Britain’s Empire drowned in the mud of Flanders.
Later, as its Colonies went their own way, Britain felt obligated to grant special citizenship status to it’s Africans, Indians and Pakistanis. The result of this is now clearly visible.

Ironically, there are Black British who speak the Queen’s English perfectly well, and they’re worried.
