I surprised that the Japanese reprisals on Chinese civilians for assisting the escape of the Doolittle Raiders isn’t on there. Casualties for that were far in excess of the 10 items in the list.

What was the difference between the USA and it’s WWII enemies? EASY!!
The difference is a nations actions in VICTORY.
When and where victorious, the Germans and the Japanses got down to the REAL business of mass killing. In the areas where hey were victorious, the atrocities were legion.
When and when the forces of the United States stood proudly in VICTORY——THE KILLING CAME TO AN END!!!
Then we disarmed and went home.

Maybe I should print copies of this article. I could stand on the sidewalk in front of the Japanese consulate and hand them out to people, including Japanese people.

There was no mention except obliquely to the concentration camps that held American civilians.

don’t remember what it was formerly as i read the book years ago- though they referred to the humans as “maruta” or “logs”...

it was also McArthur who refused to prosecute many of the unit 731 scientists after the japs surrendered..

The elderly in the Philippines tell stories of Japanese soldiers storming through neighborhoods, taking Filipino babies and throwing them into the air, aimed to land on boards with nails driven through them. Don’t know if this is true or not, but those stories are told.

My late father who served in the Army during WWII, Korea, and civil service contractor in Vietnam after he retired, died with only one real thing he hated most in his life and that was all Asian (formerly known as Orientals) people.

When I was 12 (1972) I had my front tooth knocked out and my dentist was a young Japanese guy. I was too young for a permanent crown so I would get a temporary about 3-5 months when the crown would start falling out as I grew and my mom was always taking me to get it replaced.

Finally one day after it fell out my Dad said he would take me in. So we went to the Dentist office and when the dentist came out my Dad laid in to him. He called him a G—Damned g—k, and no wonder he couldn’t fix my tooth, then told him he used to shoot you S.O.B.s! Then we walked out and obviously never went back to see him again...

Are you talking about the Japanese internment camps in the US or camps run by the Japanese?

From 1958-1961 I lived in the Philippines as a junior high kid. Once of the sites we visited there was a place (I forget the name) where the Japanese had walled up several hundred prisoners and left them to suffocate.

I have had incredible responses from people when I mention that the World War II generation of Japanese were perhaps THE most racist group of any nation ever.

Some dismiss the idea, some have pretended we were far worse, but most people don't know just how true my characterization of that group is.

It's a sad deviation from historical fact that most don't know.

I used to have a book THE HIDDEN HORRORS OF WW II. Fascinating reading of what the Japs got away with.

They even murdered German Moravian missionaries.

The ones run by the Japanese in the Philippines. Those captives were also subject to atrocities.

I just bought a DVD THE MEN BEHIND THE SUN. Brutal! Also got the rape of Nanjing by the same producers. Haven’t worked up to seeing it yet, the film Nanjing, Nanjing was rough enough.

"logs", yep, that's them. Calling the prisoners/subjects "logs" was their sick humor as they were in a lumber yard.

Some real, unnaturally bad, things were done there.
