Yes. He went around the country buying up historical buildings like Edison’s lab, in New Jersey, and reconstructed them in Michigan. Greenfield Village, near Ft. Dearborn, Michigan, is where many national treasures are now located.
Two of my great uncles were born in the original Postville Courthouse, because my great grandparents owned it for two years. They sold it to a Judge Beech, and his wife, who in turn either gave it to the city, or sold it to the city of Lincoln, IL.
