Katie Couric is upset that an eight-second pause inserted into an interview she did with gun rights activists in the documentary Under the Gun has drawn criticism, calling the edit an unnecessary mistake, according to an individual with knowledge of her thinking.
The individual spoke to TheWrap and said that director Stephanie Soechtig inserted the pause, which critics are calling an example of deceptive and appalling journalism.
This was an unnecessary mistake, the individual told TheWrap. It did not represent editing someones sentences, there was no factual error, this is not a mistake that is a substantive mistake. It could have been avoided, he said, adding: This was a poor decision that was made and it involves silence.

Katie blames her producer.
Standard lefty procedure.
VCDL president Philip Van Cleave told the Washington Free Beacon that Couric intentionally removed their answers and spliced in nine seconds of some prior video of our members sitting quietly and not responding. Viewers are left with the misunderstanding that the members had no answer to her question.
katie, the loser, couric should stick to videotaping her colon. What a schmuck and putz supreme.
The Leftist twit regrets being caught!
Regrets being caught.
so she is saying that she makes necessary mistakes
Don’t make it worse by insulting our intelligence, Katie.
You got caught at what 60 minutes did for 30 years. Suck it up sweety.
Rush was just seething when he played this Couric clip today. “Perky Katie” should be sued for fraud.
She only regrets getting caught.
I heard the response of the ones who were defending gun rights. I use to say that it would take another 300 years for gun rights advocates to inform their viewers, when viciously attacked for the supposed lack of background checks (what would keep terrorists from purchasing a gun, see, see, see) that background checks are already in place and have been for years. It looks like it will take 350 years.
It was NOT a mistake. It was a premeditated attempt to deceive the audience while smearing the honor and intelligence of pro-Second Amendment Americans.
Rush nailed it. Katie Kouric is NOT a good person.
And I’ll add my own opinion; formed over many years of observing Ms. Kouric, including her demonstration on morning TV of installing a condom on a vegetable of some kind, many years ago. She was a low rent skank then; and she has NOT improved with age.
Katie landed under sniper fire and forgot...
FUKC
Sounds more like Bill...
this is not a mistake that is a substantive mistake.
As we all know it all depends on the meaning of “is”.
She asked the question, what do you do to prevent felons from getting guns? Then spliced in nine seconds of silence when in reality they answered immediately.
Making it sound like the conservatives had no answer, weren’t taking steps to keep guns away from criminals.
Interesting.
She is only upset that she got caught .
They are all Dan Rather.
She is only upset she got caught. She is ultra biased, and no longer perky and has a grating voice.
