Trump needs to say something like “Bernie is a worthy opponent and he should be the Dem nominee, however it looks like Bernie will be screwed over by the Dem party much like the GOP tried to screw over me. Bernie and I are the only two true outsiders to take on the corrupt politics of Washington”.

That comment could endear Trump to HUGE numbers of Bernie voters come election time.

He can also point out - as he has in his own rallies, that he and Bernie share similar views on free trade and taking big money out of politics. He would get his message out to the Bernie fans directly, then who would be more inclined to vote for Trump if / when Bernie loses to The Witch.
