Hopefully Trump and Sanders can dictate the debate rules to the networks, and omit any or all moderators— at least omit any or all moderators not to their mutual liking.

It’s a trap!

Rule #1: NEVER LET THE MEDIA TELL YOU WHATS A GOOD IDEA....

That’s just STUPID. Quit listening to the media. They are not your friend.

The Republucans beat themselves up. Now it’s time for the Democrats.

If Bernie keeps winning, then expect a fight at the DNC convention. Let’s watch them self destruct.

Let Hillary and Bernie fight it out FIRST... Then the winner can debate Trump.

Absolute DUMB IDEA!

No wonder why the media loves it.

Sanders will not get the nomination. So it would be a waste of time for Trump.

Hillary will let the leftist media along with Trump and Sanders rip each other apart. Then Sanders would not even get the nomination.

Absolute DUMB idea.

No dumb idea.... Hillary will get the nod. Thus, Hillary sits out while Trump and Sanders tear theirselves apart.

Trump will be wasting his time with Sanderss.

It’s far more advantageous for Trump to wai for Hillary to get the nomination.

That way some of the Sanders supporters will vote for Trump.

Dumb idea and waste of time for Trump to debate Sanders.

Let the Democrats tear each other apart first. Just like the Republicans did.

It was not the media’s idea. It was Trump’s.

Trump has been doing pretty well running his campaign so far. It would be inconsistent for Trump to come up with an idea that is counterproductive to his overall goals, which of course including winning the nomination and the general election.

Yeah, I agree. This has a tinge of brilliance to it. Here's what it looks like to me.

Trump debates Sanders, treats him with respect although disagreeing with his politics completely. The proceeds go to a women's organization. This has the following effect: breaking Sanders' people off from Hillary, who they despise anyway, and who will, as it looks like now, compound the dislike by bulling her way to the Democrat nomination. Sanders' people, or at least some of them, to Trump. In addition, Hillary's "War on Women" accusation against Trump is disarmed completely by 10 million buckadingdongs to a women's fund. And Hillary has already overused that attack and her support among women is very shaky at the moment. Some of them - not all, but enough - to Trump as well, and Hillary's best attack thwarted.

What's he out? A debate against an aging socialist with the utter failure of socialism in Venezuela undeniable - Bernie has already desperately dodged comment on that issue. Trump wins gracefully, he's holding all the cards. And mind you, Trump only has to threaten to do all of this for it to work. He still gets to decide whether actually to pull the trigger or let it simmer.

Nicely played, IMHO. But then I'm only an amateur at this...

“And Trump chooses moderators....”

Stuart Varney, Jeanine Piro, and Lou Dobbs. None of that crap from FNC! Especially Megyn Kelly! That “Kelly Interview Rerun” tonight was an absolute disgrace. My personal thanks to Ed Rollins for standing up for Trump! The other three were all POS, as was Kelly!

The things I love most about this possibility is that it gives Trump more time in the limelight - especially as he endeavors to do some charitable fundraising with it and that Sanders' appearance would further marginalize and enrage Hillary.

BTW - Yesterday, trump talked about the deal where he skipped the debate to do a fundraiser for the military folks. he said they will be coming out with a itemization of who got what - the "he lied and pocketed money" folks can now sleep easier.

So when they chanted “no blood for oil!” it really meant, “Oil, no! Paper, yes!”

Trump understands that debating Sanders in California ahead of the primary presents a once in a lifetime opportunity to embarrass and belittle Clinton in front of the whole world before the general election even begins.
