I think he is trying to help her. It would give the DOJ/FBI and excuse to hold off on completing their investigation until the Special Counsel has completed their investigation...in about 2 years.
Bits and pieces of the evidence have already been leaked. With the news that herself is scheduled for an interview, the FBI investigation into the emails is quickly nearing completion.
Note that even the Washington Post is excoriating her. Hillary is being swept away by the torrent of negative opinion she’s facing. It’s not going away.
JMHO...Hillary will not make it to the convention.

I agree. I actually have thought that since late last fall or earlier. Gut feeling; she’s toasty toast.
If she is replaced by Biden in the convention, or if she runs and loses to Trump—Obama will pardon her of any and all crimes. She will never serve a day in jail. BUT, her aides and assistents and friends will go down.
