and some military leaders tried to stop the surrender after the SECOND one too!

liberals are asses.

He could also visit the place where the japs dissected Chinese alive.

And where they switched arms in operations, God only knows what for.

The Japanese did not sign the Geneva Convention rules of war. It might however been just as effective to turn Mt Fujiama into a glass platter.
Given the treatment the Japanese meted out. Obama should just say “We won, you lost “

He’s going to announce something like Hiroshima induces in him “national reflection” or something like that:

the term reflection is very widely understood in Japan to mean a non-apology apology, meaning the apology you give when you cannot for some reason officially apologize.

Let me give the strongest assurance that he would be widely understood in Japan as apologizing if he uses this word reflection.

another less likely possibility is that he will use the occasion to announce some cut in US nuclear arms or force posture.

Every gesture. Every word uttered or avoided. Every person Barack Obama speaks with, listens to and stands beside in Hiroshima. All of it will help determine the success of a trip with huge potential political and diplomatic pitfalls, both in America and Asia.

I wonder if he'll turn into a human "beat box" again like he just did in Vietnam the other day. Don't those words and gestures count?

Most Americans do not realize that right after December 7th Japan also attacked Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Dutch East Indies, Vietnam, Burma which was then legally part of India, and many other places, including Alaska.

later they even printed up all the Imperial Japanese money they were going to use in Australia, which they were confident they would invade and occupy.

the American mind sees Pearl Harbor as just the beginning of the American war. they are much less aware of the implications for the rest of Asia, which were enormous.

That may be true of the young American minds but most older folks are well aware of the Asian impact.

I forgot to mention the obvious, which was that Taiwan, Korea and about one-third of China was already occupied by Japan even before Pearl Harbor.

I’ve got a gesture for Obama; it involves the middle finger of my right hand.

His simply being there on or around Memorial Day is an apology.

“...Japan was on the verge of surrender and we didn’t need to bomb them.”

When you are on the verge of victory, YOU get to choose when your enemy is going to surrender, not them. I think the timing might have been better with, say, half a dozen more A-bombs. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any more. Bummer!

Who cares what faggot Obama does!
This ill-bread’s mom was 15 when she squirted out her feral hyena.

There is a *LOT* to be said about good breeding.

The fact that he visits Hiroshima is an apology, nothing less.
