“Weather predictions underestimated the amount of cloud cover the area receives, which prevents the facility from consistently producing high levels of electricity.”
I had read that it wound up being contrails that has devastated much of the production there. It lies under a major approach corridor to Los Angeles, which is surrounded by military airspace. This didn’t show up in their ‘models’, although one person out there, with one solar panel (or similar instrument to measure true sunlight) could have easily told them about the problem.
They are TOTALLY BEAT, unless the military agrees to give the airplanes new routes.
What I’ve heard is that solar and wind are generating enough electricity to fuel customers’ needs. However, I haven’t done any research to find out how California is getting its electricity. And I’m very skeptical of claims that “cleaner” sources of energy can fuel all of our needs. Already, the National Bird is being sacrificed for “clean” energy. But that doesn’t seem to bother these nihilists.
How do they deal with the transient nature of solar and wind?
It doesn’t add up and buy the time they figure it out it will be too late.
