Yawn

Sanders is going to lose California in the Primary.

Trump is going to lose California in the General.

This is the NIT of politics...

Ted is a bit shell-shocked right now. But who knows? By June 6 he may be up for a debate. It’s what he does best.

Exactly. It is what Cruz does best and Clinton....let’s say she is not in that league.

Trump needs to say something like “Bernie is a worthy opponent and he should be the Dem nominee, however Bernie will be screwed over by the Dem party much like the GOP tried to screw me. Bernie and I are the only two true outsiders to take on the corrupt politics of Washington”. That comment could endear Trump to HUGE numbers of Bernie voters come election time.

Teddy is a LOUSY debater and Hillary is an expert at wiping the floor with his type.

You obviously have less than NO knowledge of the Hillary V. Lazio debate. Rick was a Cruz type, but a far better debater than Teddy is and she c.leaned his clock.

No that debate didn’t reach our distant shores. But I did see her debate Obama.... Well, different issues, different type.

Yup ...no network is gonna reveal what kind of profit it would make on the debate. On the other hand, the ratings would be enormous, easily the highest in history for a debate by a long shot. Maybe they would agree to put up 1 or 2 million.

“Trump is going to lose California in the General.”

Just saw a poll that had Clinton over Trump by 10 in CA. Much closer than anyone would expect. That’s a very doable number for Trump to handle.

Bernie’s still raising $30M+ per month.

I saw it live, when it took place.

Hillary plays by her own rules, which is WHY Trump can and shall outshine her in any debate; he's better at that than she is. Harvard lawyer types, who debate like Cruz does, are hopeless and hapless against her.

Trump is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. He knows that agreeing to debate Bernie is the most important thing - period. It marginalizes Hillary and drives a deeper wedge into the Dem party. Who knows it may even help fuel an even wilder backlash at the Dem convention. The charities are secondary, however his insistence on helping charities makes him look like the good guy. The amount is not important, besides he can blame any cheapness in donations on the networks. It also gives Trump a huge opportunity to win over a good chunk of Bernie voters - and he will.

FNC wouldn't donate 5 million, so Trump walked out of that debate ( okay it was also about BLOODY KELLY, but it proves my point! ) and did his VET CHARITY RALLY instead.

One or two million would NOT satisfy Trump at all and yes, no network nor cable wants the public to know how much money they'd make off such a debate.

Principled socialist versus an instinct conservative.

Seems risky but with huge upside for Trump if he does well.

If it happens, my guess is it will be fairly chummy. If it were Cruz vs. Sanders it would be an ideological death match, but that’s not going to be the case with Trump. I think they’ve got a lot in common as outsiders and populists. My worry is that Trump squishes left more than we would like.

Yeah right, the echo chamber here might tell you thats doable but any yokel on the streets of San Francisco would just laugh...

You don't understand Trump at all!

Trump is actually far MORE conservative than most posters on this site. He's a very old fashioned patriot; closer to the FFs than most can see.
