What did you think about the part where this preacher compares him to Cyrus and the thought that perhaps God has a plan to use him in like manner as Cyrus, and about Common Grace?
I had known about Cyrus but hadn’t heard the term Common Grace before.

The purpose of this thread was to give Cruz supporters pause to consider what one of their “own”, a Texan Christian preacher, had to share.
He shared his view that God was using Trump in the same manner as he used Cyrus in Isaiah 45, and, if that was the case, then it behooves Christians to stop opposing Trump, and get behind God’s plan.

The "danger in the future" is God.

G-d uses everyone--including the most evil. All rulers and all events take place within His all-governing Providence. He has been using liberal Democrats to punish us for decades.
I fully intend to vote for Trump but it breaks my heart that people flock to him, not for theological or ideological reasons but merely because he is perceived as ethno-culturally "one of us."
I sometimes wonder how many FReepers would support socialism so long as only people of European descent benefited. Some conservatives worship the socialist Populists of the 1890s and even people like Huey P. Long (one of Pat Buchanan's idols).
