Target's weak store sales and its expectations for this quarter, released Wednesday, pushed shares down 9 percent in morning trading. Shares of almost every retailer followed suit in what is shaping up to be a miserable year ... Shares of J.C. Penney, Kohl's, Macy's and Nordstrom fell as well. Shares of Wal-Mart, which reports earnings on Thursday, fell almost 4 percent

I agree here too...
“The CEO and other mucky-mucks just move off to another company and start destroying it.”
Sounds just like Democrats fleeing places they’ve destroyed like California to once wonderful states like Colorado that they’re now destroying like the places they fled from.
“Sounds like an opportunity to load up carts with frozen goods and then walk off in a huff when they wont check you out.”
That’s EXACTLY what I would do!
Yes, it does sound like that.
Sears owns Kmart. iirc
so the image is fake? and they are giving them gloves or moving them away from cashier positions. Not exactly what the poster said.
Great photo. Let all similar stunts end up in ashes too.
Target losing market cap due to their policy is a lot of wishful thinking at this point.
They reported a bad quarter, and the stock is down about 14% off the high.
Macy’s also reported a bad quarter, and the stock is down about 13%.
Nordstrom’s is down 27% off their recent high.
Ross stock is off about 10% in the same time frame.
Walmart was off by about 9% before their 5 day rally.
Not all retailers are down.
I could keep going, but you believe what you want to believe.
If I was a shareholder in Target, I would be recommending the firing of the operations staff.
True - and one can feel bad for them but some decisions are more important than others - even positive changes will inconvenience/hurt a number of folks who don't deserve to be hurt. That's one of the reasons undoing much of the Liberal damage is so hard - nobody wants to be in the "inconvenienced/harmed" column - even as they rail on about how they really really want the changes.....
There's a Target down here in the Biloxi area and I've been in it exactly twice in the last 6 years - both times it was empty and both times they didn't have what I was looking for - the only reason I went there was because I couldn't find certain items and they were a last ditch stab at finding them. Target has been a known left-wing establishment for a long time so I have always limited my exposure.
The Target bathroom policy was implemented by the CEO, Brian Cornell. He is a LGBT advocate. He put his personal preference ahead of the corporation’s best interests. I suspect he will be gone after the next shareholder meeting. They’ll buy him out -which may be what he was looking for to start with. IOW, he’s retiring as he likely won’t get another CEO position after Target.
I think the likely scenario to play with is that Target reaches a state of value....where someone....maybe Walmart...buys them and renames them. If they were valued at half of what they were worth a year ago....it’s simply a steak and potatoes deal where you buy them, rename, and dump the stupid bathroom talk (maybe put in fancy third bathroom for transgenders only in each store). Before all this happen....it was a somewhat successful operation and making money. Nothing has done anything to change that except the tranny policy.
You're kidding! Where?
We use to have several KMarts now we have 1 or 2 in the Memphis, TN area. Sears are closing too. Prices on their cheap chinese junk and bad service are a big part of the problem.
You go into the big mall Wolfchase and Sears is the least shopped over Penny’s, Macy’s and Dillard’s.
Easy for me to boycott them all, as they are a 2 hr round trip for me as I live rural. Going to the doctor sucks as it’s a 2 hr round trip too. Up side car and house ins is less as is the crime rate.
Tone deaf CEO
Thanks, been informed by a few.
The business that went to Target doesn't disappear, it goes to other stores. They will be hiring.
I didn’t know there was a boycott, although I should have assumed so.
Personally, for me - it won’t be short lived. I vow to never shop there again
They had an opportunity to compromise (as Krogers) and use a Family restroom for these situations. But, they chose wrong for me. Even if they changed their minds, it’s a lot too late. Not shopping with them again.
Why won’t they ring up your bacon?
Always check the company’s “Forward Looking Statement” That’s actually more important than the current quarterly report.
