Monday on Yahoo Global News ardent “Never Trump” activist and conservative blogger Erick Erickson said he can not vote for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Erickson said, “If the Republican Party wants to go in his direction, I guess I’m not a Republican anymore. I never signed a party oath.”

All these "influential" anti-Trump republicans thought so much of themselves that they believed when they spoke, the republican electorate would have to listen and obey. It would be the natural response.
Instead, they learned that people simply don't care about what they have to say, and since they make their living being "people who are listened to" it has to hurt.
Imagine how disconnected from reality one must be to tout Mitt Romney as the "conservative alternative" to Donald Trump. Mitt Romney, for God's sake.
