Looks like he was a gang member, probably trying to get some “street cred” by killing someone at random. The Iraqi seems to be just a side note, not really related (could have been anyone).

I'm not willing to go that far. These are the same thugs who get a kick out of playing the potentially deadly "knockout game." Why would they be concerned about killing anyone with a gun?

No, the guy just went outside his apartment because he’d never seen snow falling before. He and his wife went out to take pictures of themselves in the snow. The black gang also shot up a pickup truck belonging to a Mexican that lived there.

First story, CAIR was all over it. Follow up story, no description of the perps, but CAIR was backpedaling fast. Finally, when an arrest was made, the paper had a picture of the perp.
