Dave Matthews Band Pledges Proceeds from NC Concert to Fight Trans Bathroom Bill

Dave Matthews Band will donate the proceeds from their upcoming concert in Charlotte to five organizations fighting North Carolina’s recently enacted transgender bathroom law.

Unlike other artists who have cancelled concerts in the state in opposition to the law, Dave Matthews Band will go ahead with its scheduled May 27 show at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte.

In a brief statement on their website, the band announced that a portion of proceeds from the performance would go to five organizations working to fight the law: the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Lambda Legal, ACLU of North Carolina, Equality NC and Time Out Youth.

The band selected the beneficiary organizations with the assistance of NC Needs You, an organization that encourages artists and musicians to honor previously scheduled engagements in North Carolina.

Why can't it ever be for a good cause, like fighting against Yeast Infection?

Who is Dave Matthews? Just another whiney new-age folksinger nobody. They all sound more/less alike, to me.

Weren’t they charged with dumping their bus’s toilet water into the Chicago River? Now that is a classy band.

Well, you nailed it but I will say it anyway.

Dave Matthews band, do me a favor and don’t dump your shit all over Charlotte.

Personally, I could care less what you do with your Faggot agenda.

Yep, they claimed it was an accident, but it would be a helluva coincidence that they happened to dump just as the bus was passing over a grated bridge over a river, wouldn’t it? You’re only going to be on that bridge for maybe 30-45 seconds unless you’re stuck in traffic, that’s a preposterously tiny window to stumble into if you aren’t intentionally dumping.

yeah, they’re sickos. I agree. But they’re at least engaging in commerce...better than the hypocrites like Springsteen and his ilk.

For him to hold the concert and make this donation is at least less tacky than the people canceling tours in North Carolina while still performing in the UAE and other Muslim nations that jail or execute homosexuals.

Good point.

I mean, Matthews's willingness to donate a significant portion of his earnings to a cause he supports with such passion, with such enthusiasm -- that is, preserving the rights of mentally sick, naked men to expose themselves to women and children -- then who, besides decent people who oppose child abuse, should question Matthews's morality and judgment?

Dave Matthews is South African by birth. He spent most of his life there before moving to New York, after his graduation from high school, to avoid the South African draft. He is a Leftist, influenced by his Quaker background, and strong supporter of Obama. Matthews, who now resides in Seattle with his wife, Jennifer Ashley Harper, is a strong supporter of gay rights and participated in “Love Unites Shepard Fairey Equality Project”, a gay marriage advocacy project.

It is luck Matthews did not sink too far into the homosexual cult because he is lucky to have fathered two daughters and a son. Otherwise, he would have been rendered in the ashcan of genetic history.

Remember this: The gay cult is a circuit breaker to the genetic progression through the generations.

Should have an ad promo with a list of all celebrities who are standing in support of the convicted child molester/registered sex offender who pushed the initial Charlotte transgender bathroom city ordinance through that started all this crap.

What we are witnessing in this country, and in the West in general, is nothing less than a diabolical level of brainwashing that rivals any cult or evil movement that ever existed. I used to wonder how the Germans could be brainwashed into becoming Nazis and be willing to commit the atrocities that they did, but now I understand completely.

Back in the 1980s, the very idea of marriage for gays or laws allowing men into the women’s bathroom would have been only a joke, even among the leftwing types. Now, not only do many mainstream people (including Republicans) support these causes, but they are militant about them. Militant about men in women’s bathrooms, for God’s sake! It is almost as if increasingly ridiculous ideas are being pushed not just to see if they can make the sheep follow them, but to demoralize the rest of us who refuse to follow them. These are truly Orwellian times we live in.

That’s a lot more than I would ever want to know about him. I already know he makes crappy music, and that’s enough for me.

JFK funded NASA which eventually put a man on the moon. Obama put a man in the ladies room. Some “legacy,” huh?
