History once again has been ignored as the ultimate teacher.

No kidding. I'm reading this thinking "these guys can't be serious." I think the reason is that the ideologists have so fixated on nationalism as the ultimate evil and the source of all of Europe's fighting that they've forgotten that they managed to fight quite a bit before nationalism came around and it was always over this specific issue. The EU does not represent a transcendence over nationalism, it simply replaces a small dog with a big one.

“There will be no debate or dialogue with the far-right,” the liberal bureaucrat told AFP.

Well, there you are. And they have the mechanism to back that sort of arrogance up, too, or at least they think that they do.

The Commission can now trigger a “rule of law mechanism” (Article 7 TEU) against nations it perceives as deviating from “the common constitutional traditions of all Member States.” Ultimately, “far-reaching sanctions” can be exerted, and a country can be stripped of all voting rights in the EU and have funding blocked.

Good heavens, does this sound familiar or what? Now who in European history tended to kick hardest against that particular set of spurs? Why, the Poles, of course!

Mr. Timmerman and Commission gave Poland an ultimatum and deadline to back down by, which expired yesterday.

Really? So who blinked?

As reported by Breitbart London today, the commissioner has now travelled to Poland to “negotiate” with the government there. There is no precedent to indicated what will happen next.

Yes, there is. Google up Jan Sobieski to find out. What is remarkable about this blind spot is that the bureaucrats of the EU think that somehow their diktats differ from those of Louis XIV, Charles V, Metternich, or Bismark, as if supra-nationalism isn't really nationalism repackaged. It should be to no one's surprise that they're getting major pushback, and you know what? They don't have an army to back them up. And that's going to be a problem for the new Sun Kings.

The EU-NSDAP had better be careful, very careful, of who they try to push around.
Historically the Poles have been very protective and aggressively defensive of their Nation, their Freedom, and their National Identity.
Poland has been conquered many times but they have always fought viciously to the bitter end, and comeback as a greater and stronger POLAND.
Just read NO GREATER ALLY by Kenneth K. Koskodan for an example.
