One of the stars of the reality TV show "Pawn Stars" told a judge on Monday he's taking a plea deal that would spare him jail time in a case stemming from the discovery of guns, marijuana and other drugs at his Las Vegas home.

He will be lucky if he lives past 50.
He'll end up as a bartender or janitor at some Vegas saloon off-Strip.

I won’t be watching Roots....I get enough white bashing on Law and Order,SVU, etc where all the bad guys all the time are always whiteys...
Plus he pled guilty to a charge of “attempted drug possession.” How do you attempt to possess pot and meth found in your house?
I know, it’s a plea deal.
I never watch the show and for all I know the guy may be a total douchebag, but I have real concern when the police search someone’s home for evidence of an alleged crime, find no evidence of the crime that was alleged, so they charge the guy with a felony for having 12 guns, all of which appear to have been totally legal.
Yes. But I have to believe when they were serving the sex assault warrant, they saw stuff in plain sight.
You see drugs and stuff in plain sight your dont need a warrant to search.
Given he was a douche he probably had stuff in plain sight because he thought he was a celebrity and untouchable. Douches usually think like this. Like they are bulletproof and so above regular people, it just doesnt hapen to someone like them.
The gun violation came into play when the illegal drugs were found.
Pot smokers can’t have guns? What? How about Colorado? Wait a minute. They are there on a sex warrant? This is very odd.
I would not have any problem if they had just charged him for pot or meth.
My problem is with charging the guy with felony weapons charges for having a dozen guns in his house (including registered hand guns, a shot gun and a .22 rifle), none of which appeared to have been illegal in any way.
I have several hunting rifles in an antique gun cabinet with a glass door. Those rifles would all be in plain sight if someone searched my house. Could I be charged with felony weapons charges for owing a dozen guns if the police search my house and find them while not finding any evidence to support the charges that prompted them to search my house?
Thankfully, I live in Texas where a dozen guns is not considered a "small arsenal" but merely basic hunting gear.
A GALLON size Ziploc bag of pot?
That is a lot of pot. If it was good pot it could easily be over $2000 worth.
So the feds can, if they choose to do so, confiscate the guns of anyone who buys pot in Colorado (where it is still illegal under federal law), and charge them with felony weapons charges. Or in California, they can confiscate your guns and charge you with felony weapons charges if you are caught smoking a cigarette in your back yard.
No matter who you are, no matter what you do, I guarantee a motivated prosecutor can find some law that you have broken.
In Nevada, a person may not own or possess a firearm if he is an "unlawful user of, or addicted to, any controlled substance." This means that if a person is arrested while in possession of both drugs and a gun, he may be charged under this statute. This crime is a category B felony, with a potential prison sentence of 1 to 6 years and a fine of $5,000. Pot is legal in Colorado.
The feds were not involved in this incident in Nevada.
This probably why the Feds are holding fast with current drug laws and at the same time, to some degree, encouraging States to legalize it. Easy way to “legally” confiscate 2A hardware.
Wow, this arrest is the only “reality” to ever come out of that “reality” program.
There is no requirement to register non-ffa weapons in Nevada.
Nah!
Corey did the set-up to get back at him for
all those toys he stole when they were kids.
