They need to radio back the black box data in a similar fashion, continuously, and then recovery of the actual black boxes would not be necessary.

I imagine such technology is now quite feasible, and I agree should be implemented. The old black box stuff used to be all they had, but retrofitting should not be a huge undertaking.
Wasn’t it an Egyptian Air Flight where the off Duty Pilot locked the Flight Crew out of the Cockpit and flew the Plane into the Atlantic?
I remember the Airline disputed the results of the Investigation and blamed the Accident on a Mechanical failure.
I think a better name is Hog Air.
Yup = “I rely on god” muttered more than a few times after autopilot disengaged and forced plunged into the Atlantic.
No the locking out of the pilot by the co pilot was the crazy German. The plunge into the sea was Egyptair 990 and occurred in 1999. Another crazy co pilot who was recorded as repeatedly saying I rely on God as he did so.
I have not been keeping the 24/7 news channels on, so I am not sure of the latest news.
It seems that 2 stories have been floated since last week.
1. Pilot/plane made not contact with Egyptian Air Control, after it signed off from Greek Air Control.
2. So who originated the story of smoke? Apparently, some unnamed source with Egyptian Air Control leaked that the plane did have several minutes contact with EAC. Part of that conservation was concern of the smoke.

The first day after the crash, someone reported debris including airplane parts and luggage. It was identified as coming from this aircraft.
That was either a false report or some other debris.
Late on the second day, we heard reports that an oil slick, luggage, aircraft debris had been spotted [different location from the previous report].
The story seems to keep changing.
