Thanks for the insight on this. I knew the Vietnamese were no fans of the chicoms, but I had no idea about the Indonesians.

In the 1960s the Chinese in Indonesia, who were always regarded as certain Europeans regarded the Jews because they tended to be smarter and ore astute commercially than the locals, were generally massacred in an archipelago wide pogrom of ethnic Chinese that lasted many months. The communists had tried to stage a coup and they, being mostly Chinese, provided the trigger for the pogrom. Southeast Asians generally do not love Chinese.
