We remember Your beautiful promise from the Word of truth---that You gave us Your Son, and that when we believe in Him, we choose life everlasting and not death. The words are familiar, Lord, but we sometimes gloss over the amazing meaning and hope that lies within them. With grateful hearts we thank You, Father, for without Jesus we would have no hope, and death and separation from You would be our only future. So great is Your love for us that You would spare us from this death sentence, Father. Thank You, Our Gracious and Merciful King.
Father, we pray that every one of our troops knows Your love that passes all knowledge and that they are filled with all of Your fullness. Keep them as the apple of Your eye and hide them in the shadow of Your wings, Lord. May this time away from their loved ones be a time of growth in their relationship with the Eternal God of the Universe.
We pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Your blessing and protection of Your people, Israel. Father, humbly we ask You to call our nation to repentance and help us to return to the center of Your Will. Teach us to do Your Will, for You are our God. Your Spirit is good and righteous altogether. How blessed we are to belong to You, Lord. Lead us into the land of uprightness, for the sake of Your Son, in Whose Name we pray. Amen.
