In California having a drivers license does not mean you have to have insurance. Insurance is required on the vehicle and purchasing gets a tag to attach to license plate. Illegals can and do drive all over the place and usually in vehicles with no tags. They just don’t give a shi!. Because of this people that do buy the proper insurance are paying thousands a year to cover their own repairs that the other vehicle has none.

Very true and is why I have the uninsured motorist section covered on my policy.

IT NEVER HAS BEEN A REQUIREMENT-—in ANY state.

Think back—When we all got our driver’s licenses as teenagers—we didn’t have our own cars—we drove our parents cars. Their insurance went up quite a bit-—but WE ALL had out driver’s licenses-—and WE did NOT have our own separate insurance.

I did get my first car when I turned 18 & i paid for my own insurance. Nov 1957. 1957 Pontiac 2 door hardtop. Insurance cost me $52 every 6 months!!!!
