Hm..........apparently I struck a predictable nerve.
A couple of observations:
* It you were thinking for yourself, you wouldn’t be quoting Ronald Reagan to defend your ‘opinion’ of libertarianism.
* Facts irritate you.
* Agreed Jefferson, Plato and Reagan were great men yet w/o any disrespect, Ronald Reagan was hardly a great thinker.
Apparently making such distinctions is beyond your grasp.
* What Jefferson “said” about equality is plain and
w/neither equivocation nor rationalization. What he “meant” is the opinion of all who wish to express one. A dictionary will explain the difference between the words.
For the record, in our time, original minds such as Russell Kirk and Bill Buckley have challenged/disagreed w/Jefferson.
*Jefferson and Plato were referring to precisely the same thing; the soul of man!!!
It’s apparent you’re unconformable w/contrarian ideas and hostile to dissent. Do yourself a favor and jettison your pretensions and preconceived notions.
“Facts irritate you.”
Your extreme overconfidence regarding what you think you know does not appeal to me.
